Aimed at middle school/junior high school readers and older, “Women Who Dare,” a collection of twelve individual books, gives the reader much to admire both in its subject matter and in its presentation.

What makes this series unique is the way the material is presented. Each book, penned by a different author, has a richness both in style and substance that makes it hard to put it down. The books are smaller in size (instantly catching the readers eye), and filled with many heretofore unpublished pictures and photographs from the Library of Congress. This alone makes the books worth owning, but the reader is also rewarded with a cache of information about each subject.

The series can serve either as reference books for teachers and librarians or simply as a valuable addition to anyone’s personal library. Either way you can’t go wrong.
